Since 1969 John Kelly has dedicated his efforts to serving the financial needs of corporations, associations and affluent individuals.

John is a portfolio consultant for pension and managed assets, working closely with businesses to optimize returns and after tax positions.  From 1984 to 1996 John was the Managing Director of the Sacramento Financial Center for the Acacia Group, a fully diversified financial services organization with 20 offices nationwide. John is a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Estate Advisor and Registered Investment Advisor with over 40 years of fiscal policy experience. This includes 12 years with the State of California after serving as Controller for the Department of Food and Agriculture.  His educational background includes a BA in Government and Economics and an MPA in Health Services Administration from California State University, Sacramento as well as course work toward a Juris Doctor at the McGeorge School of Law. He is also a graduate of the Pension Management Program at Stanford University, Schwab Center.

John holds professional endorsements for investment and retirement planning for 44 private associations and three campuses of California State University. In 1998 he was appointed by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors as Trustee, and currently serves as second Vice President, for the Sacramento County Employee Retirement System, managing $6.5 billion in assets. He is currently responsible for advisement to a variety of associations, corporations and educational institutions including 15 agriculture associations and concerns as well as advisors in Northern California with over $300 million in assets. Additionally, John conducts educational workshops under the DBA “The Investor’s Caddie.”

In an effort to share his professional expertise John has served as president of the International Association of Financial Planning, president of The Institute of Financial Planners, president of the General Agents and Managers Association, and the National Speakers Association (founder of the Sacramento chapter and president from 1984 to 1986).

He has served as chairperson of the California State University Sacramento fund drive (1997 to 2000), president of the Los Rios Community College Foundation (1990 to 1991), finance chair of the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO) from 1998-1999, Sacramento trustee (2001 to present) and National trustee for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (2000 to 2007), president of the Northern California Athletic Hall of Fame (1984), director of CSUS Hornet Athletics (1983 and 1990), director of the US and Northern California Olympic committee, member of Big Brothers of America and founder of the Institute for Success.

John is also a prolific author and is widely known as a dynamic speaker and seminar presenter. As a financial coach John wrote a book called, The Investor’s Caddie, an adult learning tool used to effectively communicate to participants in over thirty 401(k) and pension plans that he manages.

An avid golfer, John currently serves as Chairman and Trustee, for the First Tee of Greater Sacramento, donating annual scholarships to help the organization provide life principles and guidance through golf, disadvantaged children in the Sacramento area.

Daniel J. Weiler, CFP
Registered Investment Advisor


Dan is a Certified Financial Planner with 15 years of experience.
He is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Finance.

In 1991, Dan began as a specialist in the pension administration field and later was asked to lead the Acacia firm in regulatory and compliance issues. In 1994, his role expanded to investigative and solution design for the 20+ account executives who looked to him for expertise in retirement, investment and asset preservation.

In 1996, he began his current association with MassMutual as the Investment Specialist responsible for all phases of firm equities consultation and education for the 30+ account executives.  His role later transitioned to the Compliance Officer for the firm.

Dan currently is partnered with John Kelly, The Investor’s Caddie, as the research analyst responsible for all phases of the practice as it relates to case design, communication and research.

Dan is an expert in the pension and asset management field.  His expertice is vital to the portfolio outcomes of the 300+ client relationships he oversees. 

Dan lives in Folsom, CA, where he enjoys basketball and spending time with his family.
